Historian David McCullough once remarked, when asked about the men involved in the creation of the United States, “…when the founding fathers made their pledge they weren’t just mouthing platitudes. They were putting their necks on the line. We need to know why. We can never ever know enough about them. “
I think Mr. McCullough is right.
I’ve always had a great interest in American history and our Presidents. I’m particularly interested in the Founding period through the end of Reconstruction (1776-1877). I’ll usually post on what I’m currently reading or something else that strikes me.
